Data are the factual bits that represent the universe. Undifferentiated data is noise. What give data its value for understanding the world is the patterns coded into it by the whatever reality acts on it. When data is meaningfully differentiated, into discernable patterns, it become information. When that those patterns are understood, the emerge into useful knowledge and knowing how to apply that knowledge is wisdom.
