Welcome! Thank you for joining me in this dialogue.

Just how engaging can this drop of a forum be in the sea of internet forums emersed in an ocean of the internet? I have no illusions of grandeur or ambitions of predominance. My hope is that I can put some of my own experiences and discoveries somewhere that other people might benefit from them along with the possibility of benefiting from theirs.

With all the amazing resources already in existence, including the Magic of AI, this might seem like an archaic format. Indeed, it is as likely to pass away as superior forms of information retrieval and exchange continue to evolve.

Still, at this project is challenging and worthwhile for me and that makes it worth the effort. Maybe, together we can create something with enough lasting value that it will be subsumed into what come next and contribute something to the future. However, it is enough if it helps us do what we do and brings us together in a meaningful way.

I have created the first set of Categories that I think represent the kind of ideas and the diversity of topics that I envision this forum covering. It has been a wonderful experience to organize my own thoughts along these lines and I am looking forward to how others might expand on it.

I have set them up as categories and sub-categories. I think that is as ‘layer deep’ as we will normally want a specific topic area to go, but that remains to be seen. What even this too much? How easy is this to navigate and are there ways we can improve the navigation? What other categories might be useful?

I intend to fill in as much of the ‘About’ topics to set the tone as much as I can. I also want us to think though the ‘rules’ of this forum in order to keep it useful and meaningful.
